25 years ago when we bought our first house there was one thing I really disliked about it: the brick wall in the living room.
As fast as I could I painted the entire wall white. Now, 25 years and 2 houses later, I really would like to have such a cozy element in our house. For exemple in the living room our the bedroom I think such a wall can create someting very special. Especially the brick walls that are slightly weathered, give a great effect for a tough and industrial interior.

But to break down our tightly plastered walls? I am not sure if that really is what I want!

Love this post. I was exactly the same, in my first home I put up tongue and groove to cover over the old bricks now I would love to have old bricks to add a bit of texture to my room!
